A savory and comforting dish combining tender mini pierogies with flavorful browned kielbasa and sautéed onions, all coated in rich butter. Perfect for a quick and satisfying meal.

Ingredients

Scale

Butter

  • 5 tablespoons butter

Meat

  • 1 pound kielbasa, thinly sliced

Other

  • 25 mini pierogies
  • 1 medium onion, coarsely chopped

Instructions

  1. Cook Pierogies: Cook the mini pierogies according to the package directions by adding them to boiling water and returning to a boil for 3 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  2. Brown Kielbasa: In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add 2 tablespoons of butter. Add the sliced kielbasa and cook, turning often, until browned and slightly crisp. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  3. Sauté Onions: In an empty skillet, add the remaining 3 tablespoons of butter and sauté the coarsely chopped onion over medium heat until they become tender and translucent.
  4. Combine and Warm Through: Stir the cooked pierogies and browned kielbasa into the skillet with the sautéed onions. Toss everything together so that it is well coated with butter and warmed thoroughly. Serve immediately while warm and enjoy!

Notes

  • Use mini pierogies for quick cooking and easy serving.
  • Thinly slicing the kielbasa helps it brown evenly and enhances texture.
  • Adjust butter quantity to your preference for richness.
  • Serve with a side of sour cream or sautéed vegetables for a complete meal.
