Ingredients

Units Scale

Cheese

  • 4 slices tasty cheddar

Beef Patties

  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 600g pkt Coles Finest Australian Angus Beef Burgers (4 patties)

Burger Assembly

  • 4 Coles Finest Charcoal Brioche Burger Buns, split and toasted
  • 4 iceberg lettuce leaves
  • 1 tomato, thinly sliced
  • Tomato sauce, to serve

Garnish

  • 4 cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 8 black olives

Side

  • Shoestring fries, to serve

Instructions

  1. Prepare Cheddar Fangs: Place the cheddar slices on a clean work surface. Using a small sharp knife, carefully cut triangles from one edge of each cheddar slice to create fang shapes, adding a spooky visual detail for the burgers.
  2. Cook Beef Patties: Heat the olive oil in a large frying pan over medium heat. Add the beef patties and cook for about 3 minutes until the bottoms are browned. Flip the patties and cook for an additional 3 minutes or until the patties are cooked through. During the last minute of cooking, place the cheddar fangs on top of each patty to melt slightly.
  3. Assemble Burgers: Divide the toasted brioche bun bases among serving plates. Layer each with an iceberg lettuce leaf, a cheddar-topped beef patty, and sliced tomato. Drizzle tomato sauce over the tomato, then place the bun tops on each burger.
  4. Create Monster Eyes: Place the cherry tomato halves on top of each bun to resemble eyes. Cut the tops off the black olives and position them on the cherry tomato halves to form pupils, enhancing the monster theme.
  5. Serve: Serve the assembled monster burgers immediately with a side of shoestring fries for a complete meal.

Notes

  • Use a sharp knife for cutting cheddar fangs to ensure clean edges and avoid breaking the slices.
  • Adjust cooking time if you prefer your patties more or less cooked.
  • To toast buns, use a grill or toaster to lightly brown the brioche for added texture.
  • Feel free to add extra toppings like pickles or onions for more flavor variations.
  • Shoestring fries complement the burger perfectly but can be substituted with any favorite side.
