Ingredients

Units Scale

Chocolate and Coloring

  • 180g block white chocolate, chopped
  • Yellow food colouring gel
  • Purple food colouring gel
  • Green food colouring gel

Candy Toppings

  • 1/2 x 150g packet Brite Crawlers lollies
  • 12 candy eyes
  • 1/3 cup Smarties, roughly chopped
  • 1 tbsp rainbow Nerds

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Baking Surface: Using a pencil, mark a 20cm x 30cm rectangle on a sheet of baking paper. Place the baking paper marked-side down on a large tray to use as a guide for spreading the chocolate.
  2. Melt and Colour Chocolate: Place the chopped white chocolate into a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on medium power (50%) for about 2 minutes, stirring halfway through until smooth. Transfer 1 tablespoon of the melted chocolate into a small bowl, and tint it yellow using the yellow food colouring gel. Repeat by transferring another tablespoon into a second bowl and tinting it purple. Tint the remaining melted chocolate lime-green by mixing green and yellow food colouring gel together.
  3. Spread and Marble the Chocolate: Using the marked rectangle as a guide, spread the lime-green chocolate evenly over the baking paper. Drizzle the yellow and purple tinted chocolates over the green spread. Use a skewer to gently swirl through the drizzled chocolates, creating a marbled effect.
  4. Add Candy Toppings: Quickly arrange the Brite Crawlers lollies and candy eyes on top of the chocolate bark. Sprinkle the roughly chopped Smarties and rainbow Nerds evenly over the surface for added texture and color.
  5. Set and Serve: Allow the bark to stand at room temperature for about 20 minutes until the chocolate has fully set and hardened. Once set, break the bark into pieces and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Roughly chopping the Smarties helps distribute their flavor and color evenly over the bark.
  • If you want a faster set, you can place the bark in the refrigerator for 10-15 minutes instead of leaving it at room temperature.
  • Be careful when melting the chocolate to avoid overheating, which can cause the chocolate to seize.
  • Using gel food colouring is best as it won’t change the consistency of melted chocolate.
  • For an extra spooky touch, consider adding edible glitter or additional candy decorations.
