A simple and delicious Graham Cracker Crumble perfect for topping desserts like parfaits, ice cream, or yogurt. This easy-to-make crumble combines buttery crushed graham crackers with sugar and warm spices, baked to a golden crisp.

Ingredients

Scale

Crumbs

  • 1 sleeve graham crackers (9 sheets of 4 crackers), roughly crushed

Wet and Flavoring Ingredients

  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 tablespoons sugar (granulated or light/dark brown, your choice)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
  • Pinch kosher or fine sea salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat and prepare baking sheet: Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and ensure easy cleanup.
  2. Mix ingredients: In a medium bowl, combine the roughly crushed graham crackers, sugar, salt, and cinnamon if using. Add the melted butter and vanilla extract if desired, then stir thoroughly to fully coat the crumb mixture with the butter.
  3. Spread and bake: Evenly spread the crumb mixture onto the prepared baking sheet in a single layer. Bake in the preheated oven for 8 to 12 minutes, or until the crumbs are light golden brown and fragrant. Keep a close watch to avoid burning; the crumble will be soft immediately after baking but will crisp up as it cools.
  4. Cool and store: Remove the baking sheet from the oven and allow the crumble to cool completely to room temperature. Once cooled, break up the mixture into crumbles. Store the crumble in an airtight container for up to 3 days at room temperature, up to 1 week in the refrigerator, or up to 3 months in the freezer. Bring to room temperature before using as a topping.

Notes

  • You can choose granulated sugar or light/dark brown sugar depending on your preference; brown sugar adds a deeper molasses flavor.
  • Vanilla extract and ground cinnamon are optional but add warmth and depth to the crumble.
  • Watch carefully during baking as oven temperatures vary and the crumble can quickly burn.
  • Store crumble properly to maintain crispness and freshness.
