This fast and delicious Strawberry Milk recipe combines fresh or frozen strawberries simmered into a sweet syrup and blended with your choice of dairy or dairy-free milk for a refreshing, fruity drink perfect for any time of day.

Ingredients

Units Scale

Strawberry Syrup

  • 15 oz strawberries, fresh or frozen
  • 1/3 cup cane sugar (adjust to taste; can substitute with sugar-free sweetener)
  • 1/4 cup water

Milk

  • 4 cups milk (dairy or dairy-free such as coconut milk, almond milk, oat milk)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Strawberries: Rinse all the strawberries thoroughly under cold water. Discard any berries that are overripe, underripe, or show signs of spoilage. Remove the green stems and cut the strawberries in half or quarters according to your preference.
  2. Prepare the Strawberry Syrup: In a large saucepan or skillet, combine the cut strawberries, water, and cane sugar. Stir the mixture well and bring it to a gentle boil over medium heat. As the strawberries soften, mash them into the liquid to help release their juices. Let the mixture simmer for about 10 minutes, allowing it to reduce and thicken slightly. For smaller batches, reduce simmering time accordingly. Once thickened, remove the pan from heat and let the syrup cool.
  3. Assemble the Strawberry Milk: Transfer the cooled strawberry syrup to a blender or food processor. Add the milk of your choice and blend until smooth and creamy. Pour the strawberry milk into glasses or jugs and serve immediately. Alternatively, you can add the milk directly into the saucepan and use an immersion blender to blend everything together, minimizing cleanup.

Notes

  • You can adjust the sweetness by varying the amount of sugar or by using sugar-free sweeteners.
  • Make the strawberry syrup ahead of time and refrigerate for 1-4 days; longer storage with higher sugar content is possible up to 2 weeks.
  • Once blended, the strawberry milk will stay fresh for 2-3 days when stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
  • Feel free to substitute dairy milk with plant-based milks such as almond, coconut, or oat milk for a dairy-free option.
