Description

A refreshing and sweet Peach Iced Tea made with brewed tea, homemade peach syrup, and frozen peaches served over ice. Perfect for a hot day and easily adjustable in sweetness.

Ingredients

Units Scale

Tea

  • 4 cups water
  • 1 family size tea bag

Peach Syrup

  • 1 cup water
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup honey
  • 2 cups frozen peaches, thawed and pureed (or fresh peaches peeled and sliced)

For Serving

  • 2 cups frozen peaches (do not thaw)
  • Ice as needed

Instructions

  1. Brew the Tea: Bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Remove water from heat, add the family size tea bag, and steep for 5 minutes. Pour the brewed tea into a 2 quart pitcher and set aside.
  2. Make Peach Syrup: In a medium saucepan, combine 1 cup water, sugar, and honey. Bring to a boil and stir until the sugar is completely dissolved. Add the pureed peaches and return to a low boil. Remove from heat and let cool.
  3. Strain Syrup: Pour the peach mixture through a mesh sieve held over a bowl. Press on the peaches to extract as much juice as possible. Discard the peach pulp, keeping the syrup.
  4. Sweeten the Tea: Add the peach syrup gradually to the brewed tea, tasting as you go, until it reaches your desired sweetness. For 4 cups (1 quart) of tea, use 1 to 2 cups syrup; for a single 8-ounce serving, add 1/4 to 1/2 cup syrup.
  5. Serve: Divide the frozen peaches evenly between 4 glasses, add ice, and pour the peach tea over the peaches and ice.
  6. Store: Refrigerate any unused peach syrup for future use.

Notes

  • Frozen peaches work well if fresh peaches are unavailable.
  • Store leftover tea and syrup separately in the refrigerator.
  • You can adjust sweetness by adding more or less syrup.
  • If using fresh peaches for syrup, peel and slice before pureeing.
  • Freezing sliced fresh peaches for serving replicates the look and chill of frozen peaches.
