Ingredients

Units Scale

For the Stuffed Mushrooms

  • 12 fresh button mushrooms, caps large enough for stuffing
  • 4 oz (115 g) cream cheese, softened to room temperature
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Clean the Mushrooms: Gently wipe the mushrooms with a damp paper towel to remove any dirt. Avoid washing under running water to prevent sogginess. Twist off the stems carefully and set the caps aside. You can chop and save the stems for another use.
  2. Preheat the Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for even cooking and to help develop a golden crust on the filling.
  3. Prepare the Filling: In a mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, minced garlic, chopped parsley, grated Parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper. Mix until smooth and creamy, evenly incorporating all ingredients.
  4. Stuff the Mushroom Caps: Using a small spoon or piping bag, fill each mushroom cap generously with the cream cheese mixture, but avoid overfilling to prevent spilling during cooking. Arrange the stuffed mushrooms on a plate or tray.
  5. Arrange in Air Fryer: Place the stuffed mushrooms in a single layer in the air fryer basket, ensuring enough space between each for proper air circulation.
  6. Air Fry the Mushrooms: Cook at 375°F (190°C) for 8 minutes. Check at 6 minutes to avoid overcooking, and add an extra 1-2 minutes if needed. The mushrooms are done when the filling is bubbly, lightly golden, and the caps are tender.
  7. Cool Slightly and Serve: Carefully remove the mushrooms using tongs and let them cool for 1-2 minutes before serving. Garnish with additional fresh parsley for brightness and presentation.

Notes

  • Do not wash mushrooms under running water to prevent them from becoming soggy; use a damp towel instead.
  • Softening cream cheese to room temperature ensures easy mixing and smooth filling.
  • Adjust garlic quantity according to your preference for a milder or stronger flavor.
  • Check mushrooms early during air frying as cooking times may vary depending on air fryer model and mushroom size.
  • Use fresh parsley for the best flavor and garnish presentation.
